Meet Mr Yosuke Sugawa, General Manager of KUMON Malaysia.
A Degree holder in Economics from Ryukoku University, Mr Sugawa started his KUMON career in Japan as a Field Consultant in the year 2001.
Through the years, Mr Sugawa served with great diligence and passion, and quickly rose through the ranks in the organization. Among some of the roles he held are:
Manage business operations that includes recruitment and training of centre staff.
Leader for Centre Set Up Department
Develop and implement effective growth strategies across 16,000 KUMON centres in Japan. Specialized in franchisee recruitment, new KUMON centres set-up and training of franchise staff
Deputy General Manager for KUMON Asia & Oceania
Lead various departments including Public Relations, Advertising and Promotion and Instruction to support operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, India, Philippines and Myanmar.

Owing to his wide involvement in all facets of KUMON’S business operations, Mr Sugawa strongly believed in a hands-on and lead by example management style that set the tone for others in the organization to follow.
However, personally he is humble and popular among staff and children alike, using his warm, approachable and personal style to lead all members of the organization to fulfill their limitless potential.
